Before & After Care
Before the Appointment
Lash & brow treatments require a patch test 48hrs prior to treatment, this is for your own safety and peace of mind
No self-tanning products should be used on the face for one week prior to treatment
Do not apply Retin-A, AHA, or exfoliate around the brow area for 72 hrs prior to treatment
Avoid wearing mascara for 24 hrs before a Lash Lift appointment. If you wear waterproof mascara, you should avoid wearing it 3 days before
Avoid drinking coffee and other liquids
You may want to prepare music or a podcast to listen to on your phone to help keep you relaxed and entertained
Clean your lashes and eye area free from all make up products (this takes up precious treatment time if not done beforehand)
If you wear contact lenses remove these prior to your appointment and bring your glasses with you as you will be unable to wear your lenses for 24hrs
Come to your appointment alone, unfortunately there is no space to accommodate additional people who are not having a treatment
During your Treatment
Pop to the loo before we get started, trying to navigate whilst keeping your eyes closed is no fun
Turn off or silence your mobile phone
Limit talking, you would be amazed how much your facial muscles move when doing so, increasing the overall treatment time
Try to remain still during the treatment, be mindful sharp tweezers, dyes and glue are being used around your eyes
If you need to sneeze or tend to that annoying itch, don’t worry just raise your hand and all hazards can quickly be moved out of the way
Understanding Lash & Brow Care
The first 24 – 48 hrs after your lash/brow treatment are the most important. You will be pleased to know that life can go back to normal after that. By following the correct after care and by being kind to your lashes and brows you can significantly pro-long the life of your treatment.
After the Appointment
For the first 12 hrs Avoid
Touching or rubbing your lashes/brows to prevent skin infection
Applying make up or perfumed products on the treated area to prevent infection
For the first 24 hrs Avoid
Direct contact and running water on your lashes/brows, especially water jets on a shower
Swimming, hot steam or saunas
For the first 48 hrs Avoid
Sunbeds and UV exposure
Using fake tan
For the first 72 hrs Avoid
Exfoliating on or around the treated area
Facial treatments like microdermabrasion
Products containing AHA’s or Glycolics
Prolong your treatment
Use water based eye make-up remover and avoid any oil based products in general around the treated area
Avoid waterproof mascara as you often need an oil based remover to get it off, which can cause your Lash Lift to straighten and damage to the curl
Don’t rub your eyes or pull on your lashes
Try to lie on your back whilst sleeping and invest in a silk pillowcase
Clean your lashes with a specially formulated product that will cleanse the eye area without breaking down the products used during your treatment
Use daily care products recommended by your lash technician to prolong your treatment and promote hair growth
NOTE: If any stinging or swelling occurs, apply a cold compress to soothe and seek medical advice
